Models & Tools
Our coaching and detox are based on a set of tools that we have found to be powerful, practical and ethical. Some of the tools that we use are described below.
Detox Tools
We use the Body Cleanse system developed in South Africa and distributed by Perfect Balance in Australia. This systems asseses your current level of optimal functioning and provides a fast-track detox through an ioniser foot bath. In some cases we will refer clients to a Minerals & Toxins analysis using a hair sample. To accurately determine stress levels, we use the Inner Balance Scan heart rate variability monitor and software from BioCom Technologies (which was actually developed in Melbourne!).
Holistic Life Design
Using a range of sources we have created our own holistic life design model and process. This model breaks life design down into 9 areas (from relationships over career to friends and health&fitness). It uses SMART goal setting and needs analysis, recognising that in certain areas, such as family and relationships, needs are more important than goals. Our holistic life design process also recognises intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual energy in the relevant areas.
Coaching Model
We combine a broad range of tools from psychology and self-development with a very structured coaching process. In our coaching, we will focus on more behavioural choices and on the client's ability to implement new choices. Our coaching is very action oriented - we want clients to be able to create their future.
Spiral Dynamics
One of the most useful models of individual and group values evolution today is Spiral Dynamics. It is a theory of human development that looks at value systems and is a predictor of individual motivation. Spiral Dynamics has been proven by extensive quantitative research. It can predict what is important to you in different stages of your life and how societies evolve as a whole.
NLP
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a model of human communication that focuses on tools and techniques for personal change and development. It also contains a powerful breakdown of communication structures, behaviours and language. Described by the original authors, John Grinder and Richard Bandler, as 'the structure of magic' it has been used in therapy, business and personal growth. NLP has created valuable models of rapport, body language, anchoring and manages to relate our behaviour to the internal representations (pictures/sounds) we make in our head.
Ken Wilber's AQAL
AQAL stands for 'all quadrants, all levels' and this is the heart of Ken Wilber's integral approach. The four quadrants of interest to us are individual (I), culture (We), material (It) and systems and processes (Its). In each quadrant we find developmental lines and stages. For example, Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Erickson's levels of cognitive development fit into the 'I' quadrant which covers individual development. The power of Wilber's integral approach lies in the need to consider all quadrants when we look at individual change.
